Wyoming governor names new head of DOT

Wyoming Gov. Matt Meat recently named William Panos as the state’s new Department of Transportation director.

According to KGWN, Mead tapped Panos following Panos’ service as the interim director of the department since October.

Panos replaces an 11-year veteran at the position in John Cox.

“Bill Panos has proven himself as a talented leader and effective manager as the Director of the School Facilities Department,” Mead said. “I am pleased he agreed to assume the responsibility of the Wyoming Department of Transportation. The WDOT has a proud tradition of quality leadership and one that continues with Bill Panos as Director.”

Panos was one of four individuals nominated for the WDOT director position.
