The big show is fast approaching, and ConExpo exhibitors have given us a sneak peek into what they’ll have in store for those attending the March 7-11 massive exhibition. Here’s the spotlight on three exhibitors in the North Hall:

kubotaKubota Tractor, booth N-12567

Kubota’s addition to its KX excavator line, the 3-ton-class KX033-4, has a 24.8- gross-horsepower engine. The compact excavator has a 8,138-pound breakout force and a digging depth of 10 feet 6 inches. To ease attachment use, a diverter valve allows auxiliary hydraulic oil to be diverted without removing the thumb attachment. Compared to previous models, the unit has a roomier cab, large entrance, increased legroom, digital panel and enhanced ergonomics.

Other machines on display: The new SVL75 high-flow compact track loader, plus the KX080-4 and KX040-4 compact excavators. Also: SSV65, SSV75 and SVL95-2s compact track loaders, the U55-4 tight tail swing compact excavator, the R630 compact wheel loader and RTVX1140 utility vehicle.

The vehicle-mounted SmoothRide system uses a combination of core Topcon technologies to deliver smooth surfaces for paving and milling projects. It scans roads and highway speeds with no need for lane closures, crash trucks, escorts or other typical road survey collection obstacles. Equipped with an RD-MI scanning unit, the system maps existing surface elevations provide the data needed to estimate materials as well as form the basis of the final design surface.

Booth activities: The SmoothRide Theater will showcase a complete paving system. The Dozer Arena will highlight machine control technology.

Other products on display: The 3D-MC Max dozer machine control system.

The 360-degree rotation HL Series Hydraulic Barrier Lifters from Vacuworx can be used by a variety of equipment, working with the host machine’s hydraulic system. Elastomer grips give full surface contact without damaging materials. The units are equipped with hydraulic locks for safety and to prevent loss of load if the hydraulic pressure is lost. The attachment can be controlled from the cab, eliminating the need to have someone guide the barrier on the ground throughout the process. The HL B2 can handle barriers up to 16,000 pounds and 30-feet long.

indeco-img-multi-grabIndeco North America, booth N-10614

The 5-model IMG Series of Multi Grabs use the same hydraulic system as the host excavator and offer 360-dgree rotation. A high pressure hydraulic cylinder ensures better gripping force and demolition performance, and interchangeable and synchronized jaws handle multiple applications. The frame and jaws are made of Hardox wear-resistant steel.

Other equipment on display: IFP fixed and IRP rotating pulverizers.
