Gastar Exploration Ltd. and the West Virginia Division of Highways are undertaking a program to repave and repair local roads in Marshall County, W.V., company officials announced on July 29.
This program will help to repair roads in Marshall County that may have been damaged by transportation of equipment and heavy machinery. both to the community and its residents.
“The communities where we work are of the utmost importance to Gastar,” Mike McCown, vice president-Northeast of Gastar Exploration Ltd., said in a written press statement. “Our goal has always been to improve the community so that they too can benefit from what we are doing. Proper road maintenance is important to any growing community and we hope that these repairs will help the area continue to prosper long after we are gone.”
The schedule for repairs will operate as follows:
Starting Aug. 8, repairs will begin on Rines Ridge Road (County Route 76), about .35 miles south of Woodlands Graysville Road. These repairs will take approximately 2 weeks. During this time, there will be road closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Immediately thereafter, repairs will begin on damaged asphalt by installing fabric, base stone material and base asphalt on Rines Ridge from Woodlands Graysville Road to County Route 29, about 8 miles. In conjunction with the work, ditch lines will be cleaned and berm material installed where feasible.
