Volvo Trucks expands customer support in Dallas area

Bruckner Truck Sales, a Volvo Trucks customer support center, has recently expanded its presence in the Dallas area with the addition of a new $5.7 million full-service dealership on Interstate 20, between Interstate 35 and Interstate 45.
The expansion was in conjunction with the 80th anniversary of the family-owned business.
The 12-acre facility has 20 truck bays staffed by 15 technicians, three of which are Volvo master technicians. The new location also houses more than $1 million in parts inventory in the 13,000-square-foot parts warehouse.
“The expansion onto I-20 not only allows us to better serve our local customer base with increased capacity and more localized service points, but it also provides easier access for customers traveling through the area,” said Chris Bruckner, executive vice president of Bruckner Truck sales. “The Dallas-Fort Worth market is a major part of our business that has a large geographic footprint. With the new facility on I-20, we now have five locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, allowing us to better support our customers with service and parts.”
Bruckner Truck Sales’ I-20 location complements the original Bruckner Truck Sales location on Irving Boulevard. In total, the two Dallas locations offer 45 truck bays, 33 technicians – including eight master technicians – and more than $3 million in parts inventory.
Sweeten Truck Center
Located off Interstate 10, exit 776A in Houston, the recently remodeled Sweeten Truck Center features 25 truck bays staffed by 18 service technicians, including four Volvo master technicians. Other upgrades at the dealership include a new quick service shop with six truck bays, an expanded body shop and an additional $260,000 in parts inventory.
“With the recent remodeling and expansion, we can now access more trucks at the same time, which has allowed us to start the triage process sooner and stay on them longer,” said Dayne Yeager, president of Sweeten Truck Center. “We continue to receive excellent feedback about the recent upgrades, and customers now experience first-hand our ability to meet their service needs in a more timely manner.”
Yeager said the Sweeten Truck Center will soon undergo additional remodeling to enhance the driver areas – lounge, shower and restroom facilities and area to wash and dry clothes. Plans are also in place to upgrade the service writer area and expand the parts showroom and new truck sales offices.
Work capacity has also increased at Volvo Trucks dealer locations throughout the Western region of the U.S., growing by nearly 15 percent since January 2010. The expansion includes the addition of nearly 80 truck service bays, 135 Volvo-certified technicians and a nearly 22-percent increase in parts inventory.
