Time-lapse captures 2 years of ‘Daytona Rising’ construction to create “World Center of Racing”

It took $400 million and more than two years of work, but the Daytona International Speedway has been fully upgraded to become what Daytona officials say is the “world’s first motorsports stadium.”

According to EarthCam, the project began in Sept. 2013 and ended just a few weeks ago. The time-lapse video below compresses the massive project into two minutes using more than one million images taken during the project.

Seeing the grandstands fill in is quite the scene.
