The Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) Railroad Safety Advisory Committee (RSAC) has voted in favor of introducing new safety rules for high-speed rail [2], according to Global Rail News [3].

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) will create the guidelines, which will govern trains that can reach up to 200 mph. The standards will also help with the development of California’s high-speed rail [4] and the Northeast Corridor [5].
