Updated Mar 28, 2017

Vehicle To Vehicle CommunicationThe U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) is offering a free webinar on a planned Broad Agency Announcement opportunity on regional intelligent transportation systems (ITS) data sharing.

The webinar is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. EDT on March 31. Registration is available here.

“Public agencies are planning, developing, and deploying capabilities to capture, integrate and manage data generated from connected and automated vehicles, mobile devices, advanced roadside technologies and other sources,” USDOT says. “Few early deployers of advanced ITS technologies are prepared to share real-time data outside local jurisdictions while protecting privacy and proprietary interests as needed. New, low-cost, interoperable data management methods that enable on-demand data sharing and integration with third-party data and applications are needed.”

In the webinar, ITS Joint Program Office (JPO) Data Program Manager Ariel Gold will review ITS data sharing between local jurisdictions, the importance of “extensibility and replicability,” and the application of these principels to data systems. Gold also will discuss the role of the ITS JPO Data Program in supporting the adoption of these methods.

More details about the ITS JPO are available at www.its.dot.gov.
