Unsigned ARRA work

Perhaps it’s a (ahem) sign of the times.

Back in the Great Depression, the one that looked a little bit like this one, there were red,white and blue “U.S.A. Work Program”  signs and the ubiquitous “We do our part” blue eagle emblems which can still be seen in the credits of films of the era. So writes Michael Cooper in the New York Times. Our very own recession has its own green signs announcing a project is ARRA-funded, Cooper writes, but in some states those (expensive)signs are being  seen as a waste of money and so we don’t see them; they are simply not being used.
