A construction zone on Interstate 470 has been unlucky for Kansas Department of Transportation dump trucks this week. Two KDOT dump trucks were crashed into two days in a row.

The latest of the coinciding collisions came on Wednesday afternoon when a KDOT dump truck with a large arrow display board and crash attenuator was rear ended, according to the Topeka Capital-Journal. The truck was using the lighted arrow to direct traffic in the I-470 work zone.

The first collision came on Tuesday morning when another KDOT truck with an arrow board and crash attenuator was hit. This truck was park on the same section of the I-470 work zone when a vehicle crashed into it.

No one was injured in either crash, but KDOT spokeswoman Kimberly Qualls said the crashes serve as a reminder for workers and drivers to be alert and careful in work zones.
