This bit of information from UK’s The Construction Index [1]: Transport for London, which plans and delivers the city’s transport facilities, is charging utilities — and their contractors –the equivalent of almost $4,000 per day to work in congested areas or at busy times. The kicker: They’re encouraging city dwellers to report — via a tweet — any contractor getting in the way. The agency says it will use the money to research new technologies to reduce congestion during roadwork.
