What are the top financed models in this size of backhoe? Contractors and others have been choosing these machines – new and used – throughout most of 2010.
The Case 580 Super M, which has a maximum digging depth of 14 feet 5 inches with the backhoe, features the Pro System Control to allow fast, accurate positioning of the bucket. The Case N Series backhoes replace the M Series, with 4.5-liter, turbocharged engines, ranging from 79 to 108 horsepower. The new Power Lift system channels hydraulic power directly to the backhoe boom for extra lifting power.
The Caterpillar 420E features a 14-percent increase in backhoe stick breakout force and is about 10 percent more productive than the previous model. The machine is offered in integrated tool carrier configurations for applications that benefit from parallel-lift loader linkage and the versatility of quick work tool changes. It has 89-net horsepower and a backhoe digging depth of 14 feet 4 inches when equipped with a standard stick. An extendible stick pushes the 420E digging depth to 17 feet 11 inches.
The Deere 310J features a standard Powershift transmission for on-the-go, clutchless shifting. The backhoe has a maximum digging depth of 14 feet 3 inches, and the loader has a 6,600-pound lift capacity to full height. The 310J uses the Tier 3 PowerTech E wet-sleeve engine with replaceable wet-type cylinder liners for cooling, reduced oil breakdown and reduced ring-wear. A single self-adjusting serpentine belt reduces maintenance time. The outer-box extendable dipper stick keeps materials out of the greased part of the dipper stick, and the serrated edge allows for efficient material clamping. EW
