From being the total package to dual vibration, these models have been the top financed double drum compactors throughout 2010 and into this year.

Tight site development jobs present the ideal environment for the Caterpillar CB24, while its high static force can be used on demanding mix types. A combination of features drives contractors to this machine, the company says, ranging from a pod-style vibe system to a single lift point.
The BOMAG BW120AD is powered by a 33.7-horsepower, three-cylinder water-cooled Kubota diesel engine and has a maximum working speed in high frequency of 4 mph. Its drum offset – or crab walk – feature allows the operator to offset the roller’s rear drum up 1.5 inches in either direction. The machine can be used in both vibratory or static mode.
The Dynapac CC900G has a water-cooled, three-cylinder Perkins diesel engine, and its central lifting eye allows fast loading for transportation. Primarily used for small-scale compaction work, the CC900G has a vibratory front drum and static rear drum.
The Volvo DD24’s dual-frequency drums operate at either 3,300 or 4,000 vibrations per minute. The front and rear drums protrude beyond the frame, making it possible to compact around obstructions without the chassis getting in the way.
The Hamm HD 12 VV features hydrostatic dual-drum drive, an automatic/manual vibration system for both drums and hydrostatic articulated steering. The HD 12 VV’s key features are its low profile, high compaction force, low center of mass and visibility.
