Mass. governor: Federal aid awarded to June 1 tornado victims
Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick today announced federal aid has been awarded to Massachusetts individuals and businesses hardest hit by the June 1, 2011 tornados and storms. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will also provide aid in the form of reimbursement for much of the storm-related infrastructure damage, debris removal and emergency response costs incurred by local communities, eligible private non-profit organizations and state agencies.

Federal partners continue to support Joplin tornado recovery
Recovery from any disaster is a team effort and a disaster the size of the one in Joplin, Mo. requires all hands on deck. Federal, state, and local agencies, numerous faith-based and voluntary organizations, and people from all walks of life have joined with The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The combined efforts to help Joplin recover after an EF5 tornado tore through the city more than three weeks ago. To date, 36 recovery missions have been assigned to 17 federal agencies with anticipated costs of $250 million.

Federal disaster aid available to IL for flooding, severe storms
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced on June 7 that federal disaster aid has been made available to Illinois to supplement the state and local recovery efforts in the area by severe storms occurring on April 19, 2011, and April 22 to May 2, 2011, and flooding resulting from those storms beginning on April 19, 2011, and continuing.
