Students shun engineering careers

Some 85 percent of children ages 8 to 17 say they’re not interested in a career in engineering [1]. This is not surprising. I would wager that 85 percent of teachers in most high schools don’t know enough math to solve basic algebraic equations. To succeed in school today you have to sit down, shut up, read write, don’t make noise and don’t disturb the teacher. That’s why so many students are forced to take mood altering drugs. More than 80 percent of shop classes have been shuttered in the last 25 years. Solution: mandatory shop classes and a welder in every classroom!
