Spain’s green jobs experiment a bust

A report concludes that these “green” jobs require government subsidies to the tune of $800,000 to $1.4 million each [1] and yet entail the loss of 2.2 million jobs in other industries due to the, and I love this phrase, “political allocations are sub-optimum in terms of economic efficiency.”

After launching the most ambitious green jobs initiative, Spain’s unemployment now stands at more than 18 percent. Don Quixote would be proud.
