Shuster leads Pennsylvania transportation roadshow for infrastructure needs awareness

Pennsylvania legislators, members of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee (TIC), and state department of transportation officials are hitting the road in Pennsylvania April 7-8 to promote the need for a long-term surface transportation bill.

TIC Chairman Bill Shuster (R-Pa.) will lead the group of five committee members and five state (North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas) department of transportation leaders through several cities.

The roadshow begins today, April 7, at Greenfield Bridge in Pittsburgh, and continues on to the Tide Bridge in Homer City, a Transportation Listening Session in Altoona, and ending at press conference near Interstate 81 in Carlisle.

The Transportation Listening Session, to be held at the Blair County Convention Center, will involve several local business leaders discussing transportation needs as well as the regional impacts of Interstate 99.

Events on April 8 begin with a Transportation Roundtable in Harrisburg, following by another Transportation Listening Session at the Penn State University Berks Campus in Reading where the tour ends. This Transportation Listening Session will also discuss freight transportation.
