Shovels ready for nation’s first clean coal plant

Thanks to a boost from the stimulus bill, Duke Energy is about to start construction soon on our nation’s first environmentally-friendly clean coal plant.

Environmentalists hate coal, because of the carbon dioxide it releases into the atmosphere. But it provides about half of our electricity and even more in China and the developing world. If this low-emissions plant meets expectations it could jump start big round of much needed power plant construction in the United States.
