Are your guys bored with safety talks? Do the topics seem stale, obvious or theoretical?

Since it’s the end of the year we figure it’s the perfect time for reflection. Construction jobsites can be dangerous places. One poor decision or one overlooked piece of safety equipment can be the difference between life and death.

In 2014, 874 construction workers were killed on the job, an increase of 10 percent according to preliminary data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The total was the highest number of workplace deaths of any industry.

Over the next week we’re going to share six real world examples of small but significant safety improvements made at construction companies. These tips were shared as a part of a panel discussion on safety at the Association of Equipment Management Professionals 2015 Asset Management Symposium, held October 6-8 in Cleveland, Ohio.

We’ll be sharing one safety tip each day between today (Dec. 28) and next Monday, Jan. 4. Feel free to print these out and share them as you need.
