R.W. Moore Equipment hosts 3rd Annual Deere Run

More than 200 people attended R.W. Moore Equipment’s Third Annual Deere Run on June 8 to benefit Hospice of Wake County, North Carolina. Customers and several of the John Deere equipment dealer’s employees from all six R.W. Moore locations partook in the 100-mile motorcycle ride from the Garner facility to Kernersville, North Carolina, which ended with a tour of the John Deere factory that manufactures excavation equipment.

Participants were also given a complimentary breakfast and later offered hats and t-shirts to commemorate the event at an informal dinner.

“The 2007 Deere Run was a complete success,” says Dan Moore, president of R.W. Moore Equipment. “This year we had the largest attendance to date and I would like to thank all the participants for joining us in supporting a great cause.”

The company asked riders to make a donation to Hospice and then offered to match the total amount of the proceeds. A 50/50 drawing was also held in addition to the regular donation match to benefit Hospice.

According to John Thoma, chief executive officer for Hospice of Wake County, contributions from the event, combined with other local charity events, will provide care for 20 percent more patients this year.

Last year, R.W. Moore Equipment was the second largest contributor to Hospice as a result of funds donated from the charity ride.
