John Deere dealer RDO Equipment and R.D. Offutt Company, the largest potato grower in North America, raised $69,343 for the YWCA Cass Clay Emergency Shelter during the recent 17th annual RDO Caters Taters for Charity event. All of the funds raised go to the shelter.

The YWCA Cass Clay Emergency Shelter is the largest facility in North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota for women and children escaping crisis situations, such as domestic violence and homelessness. The shelter housed 1,484 women and children in 2015.

“We could not be more grateful for RDO’s leadership in organizing an event that year-after-year strengthens the impact of nonprofit organizations in our community,” says Erin Prochnow, YWCA Cass Clay CEO. “RDO Caters Taters has established new reach for our mission and the impact is significant. Support of YWCA this year means women and children will have safety, advocacy, and resources they need to transform their lives.”

The annual event has brought in more than $500,000 for local charities throughout the years, providing funds for the American Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish of North Dakota, Hospice of the Red River Valley, Sanford Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics North Dakota, Project Ignite Light, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Anne Carlsen Center – Fargo.
