R. Barry Uber, former president of Ingersoll-Rand Construction and Mining Group, dies at 69

Barry Uber, a 30-year veteran of Ingersoll-Rand, passed away on Dec. 31 in Springfield, Vermont.

Uber began his career at Ingersoll-Rand in 1967, starting as a sales engineer. He held positions in the company’s construction machinery sales, service and rental areas, and later served as vice president and general manager of Ingersoll-Rand’s Road Machinery Division and Power Tool Division.

He concluded his career with the company as corporate officer and president of the the Construction and Mining Group, a position he held from 1995 to 1998.

In addition to later positions with Coastal Capital Consultants, Louisiana Dock and American Barge Line, Uber was also a director of NES Rental Holdings.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Jan. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home in New Britain, Pennsylvania. His interment will be private.
