The Birmingham, Alabama-based BE&K construction company developed an innovative training program that puts people with no construction experience to work at skilled jobs in as little as two months. The company’s QuickTrain program got it’s start in the wake of Hurricane Katrina when the need for construction workers skyrocketed, and today continues to put to work people who would like to get into construction but don’t have the time or money to spend on two years of community college training.
