Pennsylvania state capitol (Photo: Wally Gobetz / Flickr)Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett signed into law on Sunday the state’s $28.4 billion budget bill, while the state’s transportation bill continued to lack support from both the House and Senate, CBS Philly and the Associated Press reported.
The budget plan, which passed with a 111-92 House vote before winning the Senate’s approval, would increase spending by by $719 million, or 2.6 percent, over the current year.
However, the House could not agree on a $2 billion transportation bill, largely due to a proposed increase in the wholesale fuel tax.
The transportation bill is about $500 million less per year than a plan that passed the Senate in early June. But the new transportation bill did not gain enough support in the Senate.
