Clean Hands = Healthy Workplace
| June 04, 2014 |
Having clean hands is important to the health of a workforce, especially in an industrial setting.
Anyone working in a garage, warehouse, or industrial setting should be aware of the various hand cleaners and agents that can be available on the jobsite. The most commonly found device in the industrial hand cleaner world is the simple soap dispenser. It may seem like an afterthought, but the method in which soap is dispensed plays a large part in the overall health and effectiveness of a cleaning system. Hand soap dispensers have been around for a while, in fact, it’s probably hard to remember a time when they didn’t exist. Commonplace in restaurants, offices, and even in replaceable varieties at home, soap dispensers are an unsung champion of public health. Industrial soap dispensers have evolved fast, highlighting design features such as motion activated soap dispensing, volume controlled dispensing, and easily interchangeable soap cartridges. The soap itself has improved over time as well. Heavy-duty hand cleaners are now available to wash various chemicals away from your hands, while still being sensitive to the skin. Mechanics in particular have a difficult time washing their hands because the chemicals they deal with are particularly hard to remove from skin. Simple, everyday soap will not do the job. Since soap itself has advanced in technology, specific hand soaps and solvents tailored for mechanics are on the market and getting rave reviews. Having access to hand cleaners and hand cleaning accessories is important to the health and well-being of workers. It is important, usually regulated, to have appropriate cleaning agents on site, and spending a little money up front will save money on the back end by having healthy employees. For the worker, taking advantage of the modern cleaning agents provided at work is a luxury that should always be taken advantage of.
