The Oregon Transportation Research and Education Consortium (OTREC) will host a live-interview webinar about pedestrian safety and flashing-yellow-arrow traffic signals, titled “Improved Pedestrian Safety at Signalized Intersections Operating the Flashing Yellow Arrow” on May 7 from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Pacific time.
Oregon Walks Executive Director Steph Routh will host the webinar, which will explore an OTREC study that looks to improve pedestrian safety at intersections with flashing yellow arrows.
Routh will interview the study’s co-researchers, David Hurwitz of Oregon State University and Christopher Monsere of Portland State University, who will present the results of the study.
Routh will also talk with Stacy Shetler, principal traffic engineer with Washington County, Oregon, about the county’s experience with flashing-yellow-arrow traffic signals.
Registration for the webinar is free. To submit a question for the webinar, use the UStream chat interface during the webinar or email email@example.com before the webinar.
