This month, OSHA opened the door for comments on its construction standards ^[2], part of a regulatory review process that’s in its fourth phase.

The goal, says OSHA, is to improve and streamline construction standards by “removing or revising requirements that are confusing or outdated, or that duplicate, or inconsistent with, other standards.”  OSHA hopes the review will increase employer’s understanding of the regulations, leading to increased compliance.

But don’t expect wholesale revisions as a result. “Recommendations that require large scale revisions are not appropriate to this rulemaking,” OSHA says.  Still want your say? Use this link to comment ^[3]. But don’t linger. The deadline for comments is February 4th.
