Oregon wants to ban aftermarket car parts

Give regulators an inch and they take a mile. This is what Oregon’s governor is proposing [1]:
“Restrictions and prohibitions on the sale and distribution of after-market motor vehicle
parts, including but not limited to tires, if alternatives are available that decrease
greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles;”
This from a state that’s already $1.2 billion in the red and is expected to add another $1-billion in debt [2]in the coming months. You’d think they’d have better things to worry about than what kind of tires you’re putting on your truck.
