Off-highway transmissions increase vehicle speed
Equipment World Staff | July 6, 2005

Poclain Hydraulics’ new Speed+ off-highway transmission is suitable for any vehicle needing higher speed for travel between two points. The transmission is based on Poclain’s new MW range of three- or four-speed, multi-displacement motors, which are capable of rotational speeds up to 250 rpm. The MW motor also incorporates heavy-duty bearing supports for heavy vehicles or vehicles with large tire diameters, and a fully enclosed, maintenance-free service brake that supplements the hydrostatic braking ability of the motor. The MW motors’ high efficiency helps reduce transmission power requirements, thus lowering fuel consumption. Also new from Poclain Hydraulics: SmartDrive Easy electronic systems for transmission control; VB line of brake valves; MK series of compact motors; and the MX11 drive motor and gearbox.
