The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association is ensuring training for mixer truck drivers is easier than ever by launching a video version of their Safety Series.

The initial launch will include five e-learning sessions funded by the RMC Research and Education Foundation, with the first two sessions focusing on the industry’s most frequent on-road accident—backing the mixer truck.

Shot at an NRMCA producer member plant and onsite pours, the videos enable viewers to relate how the safety concepts apply to their circumstances. The videos, which are 20 to 25 minutes in length, also feature an assessment tool and group record for recordkeeping purposes.

Every lesson in the Online Safety Series is paired with the same topic from NRMCA’s Safety Series, a library of classroom versions on 23 topics that includes a PowerPoint presentation, instructor’s guide, student training materials and a quiz.

NRMCA plans to release one online lesson per quarter. The topic for Fall 2014 will be lockout/tagout.
