Worldwide sales for John Deere Construction and Forestry rose 34 percent in the third quarter and are forecasted to increase by about 45 percent for 2011. The Nortrax groundbreaking in Miami is one more sign of good things to come for this major worldwide employer.
Nortrax will break ground August 31, 2011, on its new 25,000-square-foot branch in Miami. The event will mark the beginning of a 12-month process to build a state-of-the-art facility. The new building will replace the 40-year-old building at 4343 N.W. 77th Ave., Miami.
The $7-million project is scheduled to be complete in Summer 2012.
Nortrax officials, including CEO Tim Murphy, will attend the ground breaking at 9 a.m. on August 31. They will discuss the project and be available for questions from invited guests and the media.
The new branch will create and sustain approximately 150 construction jobs for the economy. The new facility will provide Nortrax the opportunity to hire more employees in the future and to support local market construction needs.
Officials anticipate the new building’s atmosphere will increase productivity and efficiency. Most importantly, it will provide a safe place to work and do business.
The current Miami branch will be demolished, officials said. In its place, an equipment display area will showcase John Deere’s newest products and offer a view to the thousands of people who drive by on Palmetto Expressway every day.
