roadworksignWork on two New York county bridges, one on Route 9H over Taghkanic Creek and one on the famous Route 66 over Claverack Creek, wrapped up Nov. 16, the Register-Star reports. New York State Department of Transportation’s Gina DiSarro said there might still be some slight delays on the bridges while the construction crews cleaned up, but that both bridges were officially open.

According to NYSDOT, the Route 66 bridge opened at approximately 1:15 p.m., and traffic was flowing smoothly by 4:15 p.m. One of its lanes had been closed since construction began on March 14. The bridge work was completed two weeks ahead of schedule.

DiSarro told the news agency that construction work on the Route 9H bridge finished up slightly before its anticipated opening at 4 p.m. It had been completely closed during construction.
