New Jersey developer sues NFL’s Giants and Jets after falling out over amusement and water parks

The relationship between developers of a New Jersey entertainment complex and the National Football League’s New York Jets and New York Giants has gone sour and in response both parties have now filed lawsuits against one another.
According to a report from Bloomberg, the developers, Ameream LLC and Ameream Developer LLC, and the teams agreed in 2006 to the construction of an entertainment complex consisting of a mall, amusement and water parks near MetLife Stadium, which the teams share.
However, the teams and companies who built the stadium have since reneged on that agreement.
The teams say that the $1.6 billion investment of constructing the stadium was part of a commitment that made certain promises to the State of New Jersey. The teams say that in their 2006 pact with the Ameream developers, it was made clear that their project should in no way jeopardize that commitment to the state.
In the end, the teams backed out of the agreement with the Ameream developers, saying they and the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, the state agency overseeing the site, did just that.
Before the developers filed suit against the teams, the Jets and Giants filed their own suit against the developers for that alleged breach of contract.
