[2]Some extremely welcome news indicative of a growing national trend from the Washington Post which reports [3] that new home construction has been on a steady rise since 2010 in the Washington D.C. metro area.
The majority of these new homes are in the multi-family rental market but recently more single-family projects have started in the city’s suburban centers.
The Post reports that through August of this year, more than 19,000 building permits were issued in Washington D.C., a number “nearly double the number issued in the first eight months of 2011 and on pace to meet 2006 levels.”
