New Holland launches six upgraded loader backhoes

New Holland Construction has upgraded its B95B loader backhoe as part of its enhancements to six of its loader backhoes

New Holland Construction introduced upgrades to six of its B Series loader backhoes during a March 23 press conference at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011.

The New Holland B90B, B95B, B95B TC, B95B LR, B110B and B115B loader backhoes offer more options to meet customers’ needs and feature 4.5-liter, turbocharged engines, ranging from 95 hp to 108 hp.

With loader breakout forces ranging from 12,169 pounds to 15,212 pounds, New Holland B Series loader backhoes excel in tough digging conditions, making the machines ideal for grading and land clearing applications.

The New Holland B Series loader backhoes can be easily serviced with a flip-up hood that provides wide access with low effort for routine maintenance needs.

Outboard maintenance-free, self-adjusting hydraulically-applied spring-released (HASR) service brakes provide increased performance and allow for brake cooling. Separate spring-applied hydraulically-released (SAHR) park brakes are applied with the press of a switch for greater performance and control.

Two transmission options — a Powershuttle or Powershift — are available on the B95B, B95B LR, B95B TC and B110B models to match the operator’s needs. The Powershuttle option, which offers four forward and reverse gears, is available on the B90B. The Powershift option, which offers four forward and three reverse gears, as well as a kick-down feature, is available on the B115B.

The Powershuttle transmission, which retains the use of the right-hand shifter, uses synchronizers for on-the-go shifting between all four gear speeds. With the Powershift transmission, the gear shifting is done with hydraulic clutches.

Using Powershift, the operator can select either automatic or manual gear shifting modes. Auto mode provides automatic transmission shifting, similar to wheel loaders.

The gear shift points are based on vehicle ground speed. Manual mode gives the operator full control of the transmission gear, independent of vehicle speed. The Powershift transmission also features a Forward/Reverse modulation with three selectable modes: firm, smooth and normal.

“We’ve added new comfort and visibility features to the New Holland B Series loader backhoes to boost job site productivity,” said Dave December, marketing manager for New Holland Construction. “A six-post cab and floor-to-ceiling windows provide some of the best visibility in the industry.”

The rear window on the new cab features overhead sliding glass, with a slight overhang to protect against the elements.

“Operators prefer different controls, which is why we continue to offer pilot and two-lever controls on the New Holland B Series loader backhoes,” December said. “The pilot control option, which is growing in popularity, provides infinite forward and reverse movement, and operators will appreciate the adjustable ergonomic wrist rests.”

The B Series loader backhoes include the B95B LR (long reach) and B95B TC (tool carrier) models. The B95B LR combines the compact size of the B95B base unit with the longer stick of the B110B and provides excellent dig depth, reach and fuel consumption. The B95B TC delivers true self-leveling both up and down, making it ideal for material handling use.

Curved-boom design

The curved-boom design of the New Holland B Series loader backhoes decreases transport height while increasing digging power. The new machines maintain the narrow boom design for excellent visibility into the trench and spoil pile. Wedge-style buckets reduce heel drag, allowing the operator to effectively undercut when needed.

Variable volume hydraulic system

New Holland B Series loader backhoe models featuring pilot backhoe controls deliver greater fuel efficiency – an increase of up to 10 percent – and improved cycle times through the variable volume hydraulic system. This system operates at a lower temperature than competitive hydraulic systems. B Series models featuring mechanical backhoe controls continue to feature a single gear pump open hydraulic system.

“The variable volume pump feature means lower fuel consumption each day, faster operating times and more productivity at lower costs,” December said.

Attachments provide versatility, value

A full range of attachments for the B Series loader backhoes is available from New Holland Construction, including augers, booms, forks, hydraulic hammers and rakes. An optional auxiliary hydraulic circuit can be used with a mechanical quick-attach system or an electro-hydraulic quick coupler for fast and easy hookup to many attachments.
