NDA: moderate optimism for demo industry in 2010

The National Demolition Association conducted a survey revealing moderate optimism in the demolition industry for 2010. A majority of NDA member companies expect to see business levels, scrap prices and company staffing to increase or remain the same this year.

One-third of members expect to see sales increase this year, and more than 25 percent expect sales to remain the same as 2009. Around 19 percent expected a decrease in sales.

Approximately one-third of members expected scrap prices to remain the same as last year, and 30 percent of those surveyed expected a price increase.

Nearly 30 percent of members expect a staff increase in 2010, one third expect staff levels to stay the same and 15 percent expect lay-offs.
