The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) has planned its 56th Annual Meeting for Feb. 6-9, 2011 in at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando & Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Fla.
The conference will feature four general sessions and seven breakout sessions.
The general sessions are as follows:
General Session I – Experience the How of High Performance: Former Blue Angels lead pilot John Foley will give listeners tools to achieve excellence in their personal and professional goals.
General Session II – Highway Funding Update: Will a new Congress be able to draft and enact a multi-year transportation bill? Where will the new funding come from? Seasoned industry veterans Pete Ruane of ARTBA and John Horsley of AASHTO will headline this session providing perspectives from the highway construction and state transportation sectors.
General Session III – State of the Industry: Hear from Howard Marks of NAPA, Jim Roberts of Granite Construction Co., and Randy West of NCAT on three major topics affecting the asphalt pavement industry: a leading contractor’s perspective on technology and innovation, how the competition is hoping unproven sustainability myths will deliver market share, and what the NCAT programs are that will have a direct benefit for the industry and your bottom line.
General Session IV – Road Building – The Past, Present and Future: Nearly 20 years ago, equipment manufacturers provided NAPA Members with a futuristic vision of how asphalt pavement construction might change. Some ideas that were met with laughter at the time are now reality. In this session we will take a brief look back at these technological visions and how they have manifested themselves into today’s state of the practice. More importantly, industry manufacturers will again explore their overall view of what our practice may look like in the not too distant future.
