“This year, we held several public meetings across the state to allow members of the public to discuss with MDOT representatives and submit their feedback,” says Jeff Ely, MDOT Planning Director. “Public participation in the STIP is very important, and we welcome all comments, feedback and suggestions for improving Mississippi’s transportation system.”

The plan includes $354.6 million for bridge replacement projects over the course of the plan, in addition to $353.2 million for operation/maintenance/minor reconstruction and $53.6 million for safety projects.

The STIP is updated every two years and does not include some safety projects, most emergency relief projects and most planning or research activities.
