Max Stephens announced today that Vice President of Operations, Bill Proffitt will retire effective December 31, 2009.

Stephens Mfg. Co. President and CEO Max Stephens announced today that Vice President of Operations, Bill Proffitt will retire effective December 31, 2009.  Proffitt has been associated with the Company for over 35 years and has been very instrumental to its growth and success.  “We certainly wish the very best for Bill”, added Stephens.

Stephens also announced the following:

***Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Darrick Proffitt will assume the newly created position of Executive Vice President.  His direct responsibilities will include the marketing department and the engineering and design department.  He will also assist Mr. Stephens with the oversight of the overall operation of the business.  Proffitt joined the Company in 1986.

***Greg High, National Sales Director will become Vice President of Sales.  His responsibilities will include coordination of all equipment sales as well as parts sales.  He will also oversee all trade show efforts.  High joined the Company in 1987 after spending time in the banking industry.

***Purchasing Agent, Ronnie Page will be appointed Purchasing Manager, filling the position vacated when Robert Hurt left the Company.  Page joined the Company in 1989 and has been involved in both sales and purchasing at various times during his tenure.

***Timmy Smith, the current Supervisor of the Fabrication Department will assume the position of Operations Manager.  As such, he will oversee all aspects of the production operations.  Smith joined the Company in 1978 and has been involved with all aspects of the fabrication department.

Stephens says that Bill Proffitt will be sorely missed.  However, he also says he is very excited about the experience and leadership of the above individuals and looks forward to their continued contributions to the success of the Company.
