The latest Producer Price Index data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) showed a 1.2 percent increase in finished goods over the month and an increase of 4.6 percent over the year. Capital equipment rose slightly at a 0.3 percent increase since December and a 0.1 increase since January 2009. Diesel fuel rose 11.5 percent over the month and 41.4 percent over the year.
