Maryland Governor Looking for New Transportation Funding

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley met with Senate Democrats on Tuesday as part of a continuing effort to craft a bill to raise hundreds of millions of dollars in additional revenue for transportation projects, an aide said

More such meetings ( with the names and party affiliations changing) are expected across the country as states try to find ways to channel funds to desperately-needed transportation infrastructure projects. Massachusetts and Pennsylvania are looking sat a variety of options right now. Others states are also looking for ways to raise their own funding knowing that the Moving Ahed for Progress in the 21st Century surface transportation authorization from the last Congress is not going to give them enough funding for projects they consider essential.
