The Maryland Department of Transportation recently launched WTTZ 93.5 as a resource for those in Baltimore to hear about traffic conditions and other news from the Maryland Highway Administration, the Maryland Transit Authority, the Maryland Transportation Authority and the Maryland Aviation Administration.
The channel, called the Maryland Transportation Channel, is also a milestone as it marks the first new radio station in Baltimore in nearly 30 years.
“The MTA is excited to introduce WTTZ-93.5 FM to the Baltimore media market, which will be the only station in the marketplace providing regular rush hour transit reports, highway traffic conditions, and BWI Airport updates including information about delays,” MTA CEO Paul Comfort said. “This first-in-the-marketplace format has uniquely positioned the MTA to be the only source for a complete picture of what’s happening on the rails, roads and in the air.”
The channel marks the second transportation radio station in the state, along with WMVK-107.3 in Perryville.
