Manitou, Yanmar form alliance

|  January 31, 2012 |

Manitou Group and Yanmar have formed a compact equipment alliance involving compact excavators, skid steers and compact track loaders. Manitou has also ended its distribution relationship with Wacker Neuson, which provided compact excavators and all-wheel-steer loaders to Manitou for the Americas region since 1999.

Under the agreement with Yanmar, Manitou will launch a line of compact excavators under the Gehl and Mustang brands for North America. Yanmar will also launch its own brand of skid steers and compact track loaders designed and manufactured in the United States by Manitou’s Compact Equipment Division. The companies say they will look at broader distribution opportunities after the launch of these initial products.
