Mack names 2009 International Dealer of the Year

Mack Trucks, Inc. recently honored Mack Centro of Valencia, Venezuela, as its 2009 International Dealer of the Year.

Each year, Mack acknowledges the efforts and contributions of its dealer network by honoring high-performing distributors in its North American and International operations.

Selection criteria include sales, facilities, personnel, service, parts, general management, customer satisfaction and community service.

Mack Centro was established in 2001.

Since 2005, under the leadership of dealer principal Carlos Oliveros, it has grown into the largest Mack distributor in Venezuela, processing approximately 40 percent of all Mack sales in the market.

Building on its high sales volume, Mack Centro also provides exceptional parts and service support to customers.

In addition, the dealer runs a very successful training facility, which is used by Mack de Venezuela and Mack International to hold product and service training seminars.

“Mack Centro has done an exceptional job representing the Mack brand in Venezuela. The company’s strength and support in the Venezuelan market has won them this honor among the best of the best for 2009,” said Luis Ortega, president of Mack de Venezuela.

Ever since the Mack AC model saw service in Europe during World War I, Mack has been an internationally recognized truck manufacturer.

In recent years, Mack has made strategic moves to strongly grow its presence in new and existing markets around the world. As a result of these efforts, Mack Trucks, Inc. finished 2009 as the leading exporter of heavy-duty North American trucks.

The demand for American-style trucks is high in many countries and is particularly strong for construction and heavy-haul applications.

“International sales continues to be an area of opportunity and growth for Mack,” said Carl Heikel, Mack senior vice president, international, in a written statement. “Our international distributors have been critical in supporting Mack’s reputation as the epitome of rugged, tough and reliable American-style trucks.”
