German heavy equipment manufacturer Liebherr has announced that it will transition its current U.S.-based operations into a mixed-sales company called Liebherr USA.

The reorganization went into affect June 1. A team of three managing directors will helm the company: Torben Reher; Peter Mayr, head of the Liebherr Construction Equipment division; and Daniel Pitzer, head of the Mobile and Crawler Cranes division.

“Liebherr USA, Co. will allow us to approach our customers more efficiently and ultimately increase customer satisfaction in the US,” Mayr said in a statement.

According to the company’s announcement, “all points of contact and business relationships will remain the same for our business partners and all contracts/programs/arrangements/agreements will remain in effect.”

Liebherr’s existing U.S. sales and service entities will become divisions under this new umbrella company, including sales and service for U.S. mining equipment. Liebherr USA will consist of the eight divisions in the graphic below.

However, Liebherr Mining Equipment Newport News, Co.; Liebherr-Aerospace Saline, Inc.; Liebherr Gear Technology, Inc.; and Liebherr Automation Systems, Co. are excluded from the Liebherr USA reorganization.

“We are confident that this new platform will leverage the existing know-how and expertise among Liebherr divisions providing Liebherr business partners and customers with an exceptional and consistent experience in the United States,” Reher said in a prepared statement.
