A string of construction site thefts has left home builders missing close to $30,000 in equipment and furniture, according to Journal-World. Copper wire and building supplies have been disappearing from construction sites across the city, while model homes in northwest Lawrence have had more than $15,000 worth of furniture and appliances stolen from them. Thieves also took tools and other equipment worth $3,000 from a separate construction site.
