Ford’s 2018 diesel F-150 will reportedly be powered by the 3.0-liter diesel engine used in Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.

Ford manufactures the turbocharged V6 diesel engine used in Range Rover and Land Rover SUVs at its plant in Dagenham, United Kingdom.

“Ford also says the engine is designed, tested, and engineered specifically for use in the F-150 diesel,” Truck Trend is reporting.

Ford’s 2018 diesel F-150, which will be available in the spring, will be using a version of the diesel engine available in the 2017 Land Rover Discovery, according to Truck Trend, which cites an anonymous source at Jaguar Land Rover.

Land Rover USA reports on its website that Discovery is rated at 254 horsepower, 443 lb.-ft. of torque, 21 MPG city and 26 MPG highway.
