Kubota launched the R630 wheel loader in October.In a joint statement with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Kubota Tractor has announced it will relocate its U.S. headquarters from Torrence, California, to Grapevine, Texas, a city located near Fort Worth.

Kubota President and CEO Masato Yoshikawa said the decision to relocate was based on a desire to base the company’s U.S. operations in a more central part of the country. Yoshikawa said the company chose Texas for the state’s, “business friendly climate” and tax incentives.
Texas extended a $3.8 million grant offer to entice the company’s business. The move is expected to result in at least a $51 million project that will create at least 344 new jobs.
Kubota is expected to begin construction on the new facility later this year. The Grapevine headquarters is scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2017.
The new HQ will be Kubota’s second facility located in Texas. A Fort Worth facility currently employs about 100 workers.
Kubota joins fellow Japanese equipment manufacturer Kobelco which opened its North American headquarters in Katy, just outside of Houston, in November.
