Komatsu adds tight tail swing model to Dash­10 excavator line

Simplify work in confined spaces with the PC138USLC­10 tight tail swing hydraulic excavator, which features a contoured cab design that swings within the same radius as the counterweight.

The excavator has an operating weight ranging between 31,791 and 32,628 pounds and delivers 93.5 net horsepower. The SAA4D95LE­6 engine helps lower fuel consumption by up to 7 percent compared to previous models, and the maintenance­-free Komatsu Diesel Catalyst removes soot via passive regeneration, without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

The PC138USLC offers six working modes including Power, Economy, Heavy Lift, Breaker, Attachment Economy and Attachment Power.

The excavator also features a new variable-flow turbocharger, direct flow air filter, high pressure common rail fuel injection and exhaust gas recirculation, eliminating the need for a DPF.

The efficient hydraulic system employs a closed-center load sensing system that uses variable speed matching, enabling the engine speed to adjust based on the hydraulic pump output, as well as low speed matching, which uses a larger pump capable of producing higher pump output at lower engine speeds.

The new ROPS cab is mounted on viscous damper mounts to reduce vibration, and includes a range of features such as a sliding door, auxiliary input, 12­volt ports, high resolution 7­inch LCD color monitor, a standard rearview monitoring system and more.

Equipped with Komatsu’s Equipment Management Monitoring System, the PC138USLC­10 offers operators and technicians the opportunity to both monitor and troubleshoot.

Easy access to service locations reduces downtime, and wide access service doors simplify service checks. The excavator has the Komatsu CARE factory maintenance program for three years or 2,000 hours.
