Kenworth Truck Company will exhibit trucks equipped with the latest 2010 engine technology at the NTEA New Model Truck Product Conference Sept. 13-15 at the Hyatt Regency Dearborn in Dearborn, Mich.
Kenworth will feature three trucks in the product conference: a Kenworth T800 dump truck with a 485-hp PACCAR MX engine, a Kenworth T440 mixer powered by a natural gas 320-hp Cummins Westport ISL G engine, and a Kenworth T370 with a factory installed front drive axle and 260-hp PACCAR PX-6 engine.
During its seminar session from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, Kenworth will discuss its extensive product line and offer useful information for body builders regarding compatibility issues on Kenworth truck body and equipment design, installation and modification. Kenworth will present its clear back of cab options – both above and below the frame rails – which utilize a 5.6-gallon diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank. Clear back of cab space is especially critical to vocational body builders and their customers.
The Kenworth T800 can be configured for applications such as severe service off-highway dump trucks to line haul tractors with Kenworth Studio AeroCab(R) sleepers. A set-back front axle provides high maneuverability on crowded jobsites.
A wide array of options can be selected to maximize payload. The T800 is available with the Kenworth Extended Day Cab.
The PACCAR MX engine is available with a horsepower range of 380 hp to 485 hp and torque outputs up to 1,750lb.-ft.
The Kenworth T440 natural gas model operates on both compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). The T440’s lightweight chassis and tight turning radius make the truck an excellent choice in a mixer or dump application. The T440 also offers outstanding horsepower, torque and performance and provides an excellent, low-emission and cost-effective transportation solution for local and regional haul fleets. The T440 has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) ranging from a heavy Class 7 vehicle at 33,000 lbs. up to a light Class 8 truck at 68,000 lbs.
The T370 features Kenworth’s new front-drive axle, which is targeted at utility service, construction vehicles, oilfield service and boom trucks, in addition to municipal applications, such as fire and emergency vehicles. Introduced earlier this summer, Kenworth’s first factory-installed front drive axle for its medium duty product line is available on Kenworth T270 and T370 models in ratings ranging from 10,000 lbs. to 14,000 lbs. with the PACCAR PX-6 engine, and to 16,000 lbs. with the PACCAR PX-8 engine.
