A production-class model designed for big highway jobs, underground and deeper water and sewer projects, John Deere has introduced a newly updated model of its 670G LC excavator.
The machine weighs in at 154,103 pounds, has a max digging depth of 30 feet and an arm digging force between 50,357 and 51,931 pounds.
In addition to receiving a new 463-net-horsepower Tier 4 Final engine, the 670G LC features the Powerwise III engine/hydraulic-management system which balances engine performance and hydraulic flow for the application at hand through three selectable work modes:
- High Productivity: More power and faster hydraulic response
- Power: Smooth and balanced metering for normal operaiton
- Economy: Reduced top speed and fuel saving assistance
An expansion tank in the updated model’s cooling system enhances air pursing, provides make-up fluid when needed and improves overall cooling efficiency to keep the new engine operating at peak performance.
Inside the cab, operators will find a heated air-suspension seat along with a new monitor with turn-and-tap rotary control for quick access to numerous functions.
Operators will also appreciate the machine’s simple serviceability:
- Battery disconnect switch
- Spin-on fuel filters
- Two additional water separators
- Engine and hydraulic oil sample ports
- Improved step position on the track frame
- Handrails on the upper structure
John Deere offers its Ultimate Uptime package with the 670G LC which includes pre-delivery and follow-up inspections; five years of JDLink telematics including machine health prognostics, remote diagnostics and programming capability; along with the ability to add dealer uptime solutions.
